The first pioneers to arrive in the area now known as the Town of Reading arrived sometime around 1798.

WELCOME TO READING TOWNSHIP, a scenic municipality located above Seneca lake in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State.

Founded in 1806, Town of Reading has been overlooking Seneca Lake for over 200 years! We are a small town but have lots of local services please feel free to check the various services here on our site and If the township can be of any assistance, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Mon-Thursday 9am – Noon

Wednesday evenings 5:30 – 7 PM

(Other hours by appt)


Announcements

Any Clerk payments made after hours can be placed in the outdoor Town Clerk Drop Box to the Left of the entrance.

Garbage and Recycling  Saturdays from 9 AM – Noon for residents.

$4.00 for a bag and $5.00 for a garbage can.
